“Funky” Ben Askren is ending his MMA career on a high note.

The NCAA wrestler and former Bellator Welterweight Champion took on Shinya Aoki in the main event of ONE Championship’s Immortal Pursuit, which went down live from Singapore.

Funky took the center and chased Aoki around the cage. Aoki jumped guard early, but Askren went for a standing can opener, then slammed The Master of Flying Submissions and pounded away from the guard, ending the fight early in the first via TKO.

Askren claimed he wanted to show the world that he was number one. Though he said this was probably his last fight, he left the door open for a possible comeback fight, hinting that he may one day be interested in fighting the champion in the UFC.  Askren, however, has previously turned down a fight for the UFC Welterweight Championship because his friend, Tyron Woodley now holds it.

If Ben Askren does decide to end his career tonight, though, he will end it undefeated.

The legend leaves his legacy behind, retiring undefeated. Ladies and gentlemen, your ONE Welterweight World Champion.
