Gianni Grippo, Talita Alencar, Pati Fontes, & More Announced For F2W 153

Fight 2 Win is keeping the ball rolling with events, and after F2W 152, they’ve lined up yet another star-studded lineup for their next card at F2W 153.

The event will be headlined by a match between Gianni Grippo and Samuel Nagai. Grippo is one of the most accomplished jiu-jitsu athletes of his generation, winning both Pans and No-Gi Pans multiple times over the years. The 2018 no-gi world champion hasn’t competed for F2W since 2017, but he’s currently riding a flawless 4-0 record for the promotion, which he’ll be hoping to improve against Nagai.

Nagai is a rising black belt star who’s been staying active in the F2W circuit, his spot in the main event well-earned. After winning both the lightweight and welterweight championship titles for the promotion, Nagai was promoted to black belt at the beginning of August. He then wasted no time in testing himself at Subversiv 3, representing Checkmat. Grippo will be a huge test for him, but a win could cement his status as one of the black belts to watch out for in the coming months and years.

This event will also feature a match between Talita Alencar and Gabrielle McComb. Both of these athletes have brought home gold at No-Gi Worlds and are F2W veterans, with Alencar most recently competing against Nathalie Ribeiro at F2W 144. McComb recently became the Submission on the Shore champ, and now, she’ll get to test herself once again on the F2W stage.

The promotion didn’t stop there, though — they’ve also set up a match between multiple-time world champion Pati Fontes and 2016 no-gi world champion Tubby Alequin. This will be the first time these two elite athletes have competed against each other, and the F2W stage will be the perfect platform to make it happen. Also on the card is a black belt no-gi match between Marcelo Cohen and current bantamweight champion Junny Ocasio. Cohen will be challenging Ocasio for the title in what’s sure to be a fast-paced, creative match.

As always, the lead-up to these matches will feature a number of action-packed local matches between some of grappling’s rising stars of all ages.

Fight 2 Win 153 will take place on Friday, September 25 in Dallas and can be streamed live on FloGrappling.
