Gordon Ryan vs. Matheus Diniz Announced As Main Event For Next Who’s Number One

Gordon Ryan may not have been able to compete at the last Who’s Number One event, but FloGrappling has wasted no time in getting him onto their next card.

Flo has announced that Ryan will be facing Matheus Diniz in the main event of their next WNO, which takes place on October 2.

Both competitors are 2019 ADCC champions, with Ryan winning the 99kg (and absolute) divisions and Diniz taking home gold for the 88kg division. Diniz, a 2015 No-Gi Pans champion who also made the podium at Worlds last year, will be a worthy challenge for Ryan, who will be eager to compete again now that he’s recovered from COVID-19. The virus forced both Ryan and Craig Jones out of the previous WNO card, but Ryan is still riding the momentum of his last WNO appearance, where he submitted Kyle Boehm.

The match will have a submission-only ruleset and a thirty-minute time limit. Should no submission occur before time runs out, the match will go to judge’s decision.

Who’s Number One will take place on October 2 in Austin, TX and can be streamed live on FloGrappling.
