Gregor Gracie Wins Double Gold In Master 1 Division At IBJJF Pans 2020

Gregor Gracie (a.k.a. Gregor Rangel) earned his first big win at Pans as a black belt this weekend, and then he turned it into two big wins.

Gracie earned gold in the medium-heavyweight division of the Master 1 category, defeating Sergio Raimundo Rios da Silva to do so. Then, he moved on to the Master 1 open weight division and repeated his performance, getting a win over heavyweight silver medalist Rafael Azevedo Lang to bring home double gold.

Gracie is an accomplished BJJ athlete and MMA fighter, having medaled at ADCC, No-Gi Worlds, and Master Worlds since he earned his black belt from Renzo Gracie. His performance at Pans marked the first time he’s competed since 2019. This wasn’t his only special moment at this year’s event, either — yesterday, he promoted his cousin Rayron Gracie to purple belt on the podium.
