Saturday night was a very good night for the UFC’s women’s jiu-jitsu ace Mackenzie Dern, who put her opponent Angela Hill through a brutal five rounds in the main event. Dern, who earned an unanimous decision victory after several takedowns and some merciless ground-and-pound action on the canvas, was also promoted to third-degree black belt on the spot by her father, the legendary Wellington “Megaton” Dias.
Dern hopes to take on former strawweight queen Rose Namajunas during her next tango in the cage.
