Celebrated jiu-jitsu star Mackenzie Dern will be a part of her first UFC headliner in October when she faces off against Marina Rodriguez.
The fight will headline a UFC Fight Night, which doesn’t yet have a set location. The news was first reported by ESPN. The UFC hasn’t officially announced the fight yet, though Dana White had previously announced that Dern and Rodriguez would have a fight later this year at a then-unspecified date.
Dern is 11-1, submitting three of her opponents in her recent four-fight winning streak. Her most recent fight took place in April this year, ending in the first round when she submitted Nina Ansaroff with an armbar.
Rodriguez is currently riding a two-fight winning streak after dropping a split decision to Carla Esparza last year. She most recently claimed victory over Michelle Waterson in a unanimous decision back in May.
Dern vs. Rodriguez will take place on Saturday, October 9.
