Craig Jones’ return to the mats that shot him to worldwide fame saw him come up just short of gold after a hard-fought match with Matheus Diniz.
The match wasn’t the fast-paced, exciting type we’ve been seeing so much of at this year’s ADCC, with both competitors staying predominantly on their feet for most of both regulation and overtime. In overtime, Diniz managed to score two points on Jones, and despite Jones’ best efforts to tie up the score, he was unable to get those points back.
After a long and grueling match in the finals, Diniz was named the champion of the 88g division at this year’s ADCC.
