We’ll have to wait a bit longer to see Max Holloway take on Yair Rodriguez in the UFC octagon.

According to an initial report from ESPN Deportes, Holloway has withdrawn from the July 17 fight due to an unspecified injury. The bout, which was set to be the main event of the card, has been postponed to a yet-undetermined date. A replacement for the main event of the July 17 card has not yet been announced.

Holloway, a former UFC featherweight champion, lost his belt to Alexander Volkanovski in 2019, going on to lose their July 2020 rematch by split decision. He put himself back in the win column in January thanks to a decision win over Calvin Kattar.

Rodriguez last fought in 2019 in a bout against Jeremy Stephens that ended in a unanimous decision victory in Rodriguez’s favor. He himself suffered an ankle injury that took him out of a would-be return against Zabit Magomedsharipov last August, and now, he’ll have to wait even longer to get back into action.
