Recently, tragedy turned into triumph for Marcus Kowal.
Through tears of pain and joy, Kowal discussed how he donated his little one’s organs so that another child would have a chance to live.
The 15-month-old Liam passed away this Sunday after being struck by an allegedly drunk driver. He was later declared brain dead by doctors.
His parents made the decision to pull the plug on his life support because the couple would have raised him to be a compassionate person, and that person would have been delighted to offer someone else his heart if it would save her.
Kowal said there is a huge void in his soul right now, but he knows that he will get through this difficult time. Being able to offer someone his son’s beautiful heart takes some of the sting out of the loss for the family
