Robert Whittaker Becomes First Man To KO Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza In The UFC, Calls Out Bisping

Last night at UFC On Fox 24, New Zealand-born Australian MMA fighter Robert Whittaker made MMA history, becoming the first man to knock out top middleweight contender Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza in the UFC.

Yet despite putting a beatdown on a man many thought he’d lose to, Whittaker has nothing but things to say about Jacare:

“I knew I had to finish it here,” Robert told a Fox Sports reporter. “The dude is so good, he’s such a veteran of the sport, he so good at jiu-jitsu. I’m pretty sure he could be completely out and still rolling. I just had to make sure that I was hurting him and hurting him and just kept going.”

Robert Whittaker’s performance received the accolades of the man on top of the division above his, reigning Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier.

When asked if Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping owed him a fight, he responded “Bisping owes me a fight.  We were supposed to fight a while ago and I’m happy for him doing his own thing, and all props to him, but he owes me a fight, and I’d like it.”

Unfortunately for Whittaker and the rest of the middleweight division, Michael Bisping has his hands full preparing for the return of one of the biggest MMA fighters in the history of the sport, former UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre.
