Is Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson The GOAT?

Tonight at UFC On Fox 24, the first, reigning, and only UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson made history, tying former Middleweight Champion Anderson “The Spider” Silva for the most consecutive title defenses (10) in UFC history.

Johnson is currently riding a 12-fight win streak and a 13-fight no-loss streak, and half of those wins have come by way of finish. He has 26 wins under his belt, and fifteen of those wins were earned either by knockout or submission.

Mighty Mouse only has two losses: one from former Bantamweight Champion Dominick Cruz and another from retired mixed martial artist Brad Pickett. His flyweight debut against Ian McCall ended in a draw, and he has never been finished.

Fighters such as Jon Jones, Anderson Silva, and Georges St-Pierre have frequently been described as the greatest of all time (GOAT) at the height of their careers.

But Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson can either match them or beat them in many areas. He has the same number of title defenses as Anderson Silva and more title defenses than Georges St-Pierre and Jon Jones. He also has more wins than St-Pierre, and unlike the former Welterweight Champion, he has never been knocked out. Though he has more losses than Jon Jones, he also has more wins.

So, the question needs to be asked, can Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson be considered the GOAT? If not, what does he need to accomplish to be considered one of the greatest of all time?

And how does he stack up against fighters like Fedor?
