The original and former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion and current WWE pro-wrestling star Ronda Rousey has been awarded her 6th dan red-and-white belt in judo.

Ronda’s mother, Ann Maria DeMars was also promoted.

Pictured next to Ronda is Steve Scott. According to his profile, Scott is an advanced black belt in both Kodokan and Shingitai judo.

Rousey was well known in the UFC for dominating her opponents with her judo throws and lethal armbar finish. Up until her losses — first to Holly Holm and then to reigning UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes — Rousey had won the overwhelming majority of her fights in the first round and was widely thought to be unstoppable in her division.

Rousey is set to take part in Wrestlemania 34 next month.

CONGRATULATIONS TO RONDA ROUSEY ON HER PROMOTION TO ROKUDAN. ALSO PROMOTED TO SHICHIDAN WERE ANNMARIA DEMARS AND BECKY SCOTT BY THE JUDO BLACK BELT ASSOCIATION.
