ONE Championship has shared news of a banger of a matchup for their April 28 event.
46-9 submission machine Shinya Aoki will be taking on UFC veteran Sage Northcutt at the promotion’s ONE on TNT IV evet, according to a post shared by the company.
Northcutt hasn’t fought since 2019, when his three-fight winning streak was snapped in his ONE Championship debut by a 29-second knockout by Cosmo Alexandre. The fight left him with eight fractures in his face. Now, with almost two years between him and his last fight, he’ll see if he can get back in the win column with a victory against Aoki.
Aoki, of course, is a legend in the martial arts world and a former ONE lightweight champion. He’s currently on a three-fight winning streak, winning two of those (and 29 of his 46 total wins) by submission.
ONE on TNT IV will take place on Wednesday, April 28.
