Sikh Fighter Wants To Wear Turban *In* The Cage At UFC On Fox

A Sikh fighter wants to wear his turban in the cage tonight.

Yes, you read that correctly…in the cage!

“It’s important for me to wear my turban into the ring,” said Arjan Singh Bhullar, who will be taking on Adam Wieczorek at UFC on Fox: Poirier Versus Gaethje. “Around the world, people do not know what Sikhs stands for and what our turbans stand for. We believe in equality for any gender, caste, race. Throughout history, we have been fighting for that as a people and the turban signals a readiness to protect those values. It’s important for me to represent where I come from and what my people are all about.”

Bhullar was originally forbidden from wearing his turban due to UFC attire rules. However, according to The Tribune, he convinced Reebok — whose clothing UFC fighters are required to wear — to let him wear his turban.

UFC on Fox: Poirier Versus Gaethje will be going down tonight at 3:30pm EST. You can catch the prelims on UFC Fight Pass and the main card on Fox.
