Back in November of last year, Canadian comedian Russell Peters took the plunge into the rough waters of Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
In fact, not only did he dive into the art, he did so under one of its biggest names, red and black coral belt Jean Jacques Machado.

Peters took a bit of time off after getting started, but according to a recent Instagram post, he is ready to get back on the mats and start working towards that first stripe.
Best of all, he’s getting back into it alongside a good friend of his, Jean Jacques Machado BJJ black belt and fellow comedian, Joe Rogan.
Rogan, who trains under veteran no-gi grappler and EBI founder Eddie Bravo (himself a Jean Jacques black belt), has apparently also been absent from gi training.
Have any of you taken a bit too much time off from jiu-jitsu? If so, maybe it’s time to take a page out of Russell Peters’ book and get back on the mats.
