Anthony “Rumble” Johnson To Sign With Bellator MMA

After a few years away from the action, notorious fight finisher Anthony “Rumble” Johnson appears to have found a new home at Bellator.

ESPN was the first to report that Johnson would be making the move to the promotion. Though a contract hasn’t been signed yet, the decision is expected to be made official very soon.

Johnson had said that he would be retiring from professional MMA after his most recent defeat in 2017 against Daniel Cormier, but earlier this year, he then revealed that he planned to come out of retirement and resume fighting. Given his impressive record with the UFC, with his only two losses in the Octagon being to Cormier, the assumption was that he’d continue fighting for the company, but according to ESPN, Johnson and the UFC recently made the mutual decision to split.

An exact debut date hasn’t yet been announced for this next step of Johnson’s career, but we can expect to see him in his first Bellator fight in the first half of 2021 at light heavyweight.
