We all know how exhausting it is to compete, even in just one match. But that didn’t stop ADCC champion Bianca Basilio from competing in (and winning) her BJJ Stars superfight and then jumping right back into the fray the day after.

Basilio was arguably the biggest name among the superfight competitors on a card that ultimately saw Nicholas Meregali win the tournament component of the event. Basilio finished her own match against Ana Carolina Schmitt with a straight ankle lock.

🌟 Seja luz ✨ . 🇺🇸 𝕀𝕟 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕔𝕠𝕞𝕞𝕖𝕟𝕥𝕤… – BiCampeã do BJJSTARS @bjjstarsoficial 2 edição. #bjjstars #campea #alegria #fé #Jesus #Deus #foco #faith #lord #peace #focus #champion #luta #fight #biabasilio #almeidajj #jiujitsu #nogi #wrestling #gold

Basilio wasn’t done yet, though. The very next day, she stepped up at the Paulista Championship and dominated once again, taking home the gold medal in a tournament that has been very important to her since long before she established herself as one of the best BJJ competitors in the world.

“São Paulo Champion 2019. 🥇
For almost 10 years fighting in this @fpjjoficial Federation, I’ve seen things evolve, change, grow and only get better. In this federation I worked a lot when I was a blue and purple belt 😆, I believe I did not give so much work to Professor @pitta_jr and Master Otavio, and Professor @cristianeyukari in the view of some others haha, but I remember since childhood , I always trained a lot to be Paulista champion. before I wanted to be a world champion, I wanted to be a Paulista champion, and I was often, thank God, but that’s where I grew up, developing my Jiu Jitsu as a competitor and to become who I am today. Working and fighting in FPJJ made me mature, earning my money at the end of Sunday after the whole championship was dismantled was one of the most anticipated moments, feeling of accomplishment, work done and appreciation of work. These are things that I take as learning for life.
I thank Master Otavio President of the FPJJ and all those involved for the hard work and care all these years. You have made and make a difference in the lives of the dreamers. Thank you!

Basilio’s decision to compete the day after her big BJJ Stars match is particularly timely given the controversy that sprouted when Meregali himself pulled out of his upcoming Fight 2 Win match against Erberth Santos after claiming that the match was too close to Korea’s Spyder Invitational. The matches would’ve been weeks apart, and Meregali’s decision drew the ire of F2W CEO Seth Daniels, who called him out on social media.

Basilio’s can’t-stop-won’t-stop attitude has earned her two big wins in two days, and in the process, inspired her fans to get out there and give it their 110%.
