“Jiu-Jitsu Grandma” Competed In A Tournament, Then Celebrated Her 51st Wedding Anniversary

If you’re looking for some inspiration to brighten up your day, look no further than Elaine Beiersdoerfer. The 71-year-old grandmother of six, affectionately known as the “Jiu-Jitsu Grandma,” is a BJJ blue belt who is well known in the community for being an active practitioner and competitor. And neither Elaine nor her opponents hold back when they face off in competition.

Need proof? Well, Beiersdoerfer competed at an AGF tournament just this past weekend and shared the footage on her Instagram page. She shared the news of her endeavors along with the results (she tapped to chokes in both of her matches), but unsurprisingly, she isn’t letting it get her down and will be pushing ahead toward her next goal.

Still, despite the unfavorable outcome, we can clearly see that this tough blue belt held her own, especially against an opponent much younger than her.

This week is a big one for this special athlete — she also celebrated her 51st wedding anniversary with her husband yesterday. They had an amazing event that left every guest amazed.

Regardless of her place on the podium, this BJJ athlete is a huge inspiration in life, love, and on the mats.
