BJJ Legend Michelle Nicolini Officially Joins Evolve MMA as Coach and Fighter


Singapore, 16th March 2016 – Evolve Mixed Martial Arts, Asia’s top martial arts organization, today officially announces the signing of 8-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champion and Legend Michelle Nicolini, to its ever-impressive stable of World Champions on the Evolve Fight Team.

Michelle is known as one of the biggest household names in the world of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and recently transitioned into Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) holding a professional record of 2-1. Her martial arts career kicked off at the tender age of 14, when she first picked up the Brazilian art of Capoeira. After three years of training in the art, she decided to change her focus to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and in the past 20 years has not looked back on that decision.

A 3rd degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Robert Drysdale, Michelle Nicolini is the latest female addition to the Evolve Fight Team after ONE superstar Angela Lee. Michelle is a multiple-time ADCC World Champion, a World Pro Cup Champion, World No-Gi Champion, European Champion, and the Pan American Champion. Her favorite techniques are the Shin-on-Shin Guard, Triangle Choke, and Toe Hold.

Michelle will continue to compete in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and at the same time train and compete in MMA. She is currently preparing for the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship set to take place in April 2016. Aside from training alongside the World Champions on the Evolve Fight Team, Michelle will also be a full-time instructor at Evolve MMA.
