Cat Zingano Submits Olivia Parker At Bellator 256

Andre Galvao brown belt Cat Zingano put her jiu-jitsu to use to finish her fight early against Olivia Parker at tonight’s Bellator 256.

Zingano started the action early, following up a head kick with a takedown attempt, ultimately getting Parker up against the cage. She soon succeeded in getting her opponent down to the ground, moving from half-guard to mount, then transitioning to Parker’s back. Though Parker was able to reverse the position, Zingano was still able to capitalize on her control, securing an armbar, going belly down, and getting the tap in just under three minutes into the first round.

The win brought the former UFC title challenger to 2-0 in Bellator and marked her first finish in six years.

Following her victory, Zingano — who announced days ago that she’d set up a $10,000 “Overcoming Loss” scholarship with Bold.org — expressed her desire to go for the Bellator featherweight title.
