Josh Leduc is one of Florida’s well-known black belts and the head of the Sapateiro grappling promotion. Now, he’s using his BJJ knowledge and reputation for a truly good cause.
Leduc will be hosting a seminar this weekend at the Devine BJJ academy, with all proceeds going to Devine BJJ academy owners Angie and Scott Devine to support Angie’s battle with cancer.

According to the GoFundMe that’s been set up for the Devine family, Angie is currently preparing to start chemotherapy following a stage 3 colon cancer diagnosis.
Leduc says that while he’s not personally connected to the Devines, he has a few friends who train at the academy. “I was doing a giveaway of a seminar and they approached me about doing this, and I was all in,” he told the Jiu-Jitsu Times.
The cause itself is also close to his heart. “My grandma died of cancer. My grandpa beat cancer twice. And my coach, who’s like a dad to me, survived leukemia, so anything I can do to help someone in their battle, I’m there.”
Leduc’s seminar will take place on July 11 at Devine BJJ in Brunswick, GA. Attendance will be donation-based.
