Cyborg Trolls Rousey, Pokes Fun At Hillary Clinton

The seemingly endless cyber war between Invicta Featherweight Champion Cris “Cyborg” Justino and former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey has taken a political turn.

In a tweet posted early on Saturday morning, Cyborg said she was to Rousey what emails are to Democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton.

Given what Clinton’s careless email usage could do to her campaign, it’s easy to see the parallels Cyborg is drawing.  She also seems to be pointing out what she sees as Clinton’s refusal to talk about her emails and Ronda’s supposed insistence that she not be asked any questions about a super fight with Cyborg.  Clinton, however, has repeatedly addressed comments about her emails, and the Jiu-Jitsu Times has not confirmed that Ronda ever made such demands about a super fight. The featherweight champion would therefore be wrong about both Clinton and Ronda in these respects.

Cyborg may also be mistaken if she thinks she’s close to a super fight with her longtime rival. Granted, she and Rousey are once again part of the same promotion, and the fight would no doubt sell millions in ticket and pay-per-view buys; but weight differences between the two will almost certainly continue to be a problem for the fight.

Furthermore, Ronda is set to reclaim her position as the UFC’s Bantamweight queen when she takes on reigning champion, Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 on December 30.  Depending on how badly she is injured in the fight, it could be well into 2017 before UFC matchmakers even get the ball rolling on what is easily the most anticipated super fight in the history of women’s MMA.

Besides, by that time, Cyborg may have her hands full with another judo Olympian: the WSOF’s newly-signed announcer and fighter, Kayla Harrison.

Though she originally said she was not ready for MMA, Harrison has not only changed her tune, but expressed interest in taking on Cyborg.

Justino seems to be open to the fight once Harrison gets some experience under her belt.
