Daniel Cormier On Jon Jones Arrest: “I Don’t Think You Should Dance On Someone’s Grave In Their Darkest Moments”

Jon Jones made the news for the wrong reasons — again — when he was arrested last week for DWI and negligent discharge of a firearm. To those who have followed Jones’ career, the arrest was hardly a surprise. Jones has had multiple run-ins with the law, and one would think that anyone who held a rivalry with the fighter would enjoy seeing his reputation continue to suffer.

Daniel Cormier says that he doesn’t take joy in the recent news, though. Cormier, one of Jones’ biggest rivals, told ESPN that he doesn’t “celebrate” Jones taking another wrong turn in life.

“I didn’t celebrate the kid getting into trouble again. I don’t think you should celebrate or dance on someone’s grave in their darkest moments. Because you don’t do that to people,” he said. Cormier also brought up the point that these situations have also impacted Jones’ loved ones. “It’s not just him. He’s got daughters. He’s got a fiancée. He’s got so many things at home that are affected by this and affected by his actions and his behavior.”
