No, that title isn’t a Mad Lib that we copy/pasted into an article — what started off as a throwaway comment is now a very pricey reality. Dana White has revealed to TMZ that not only is the now-infamous “Bad Mother F*cker” (BMF) belt going to cost around $50,000 to make, but Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson himself is going to be presenting it at UFC 244.

All of this started when Nate Diaz won his UFC 241 fight against Anthony Pettis and said in his post-fight press conference interview that his next bout would have him defending the “‘baddest mother f*cker in the game’ belt.” Well, Dana White took that literally, and while Diaz won’t be fighting for a championship title when he faces Jorge Masvidal at UFC 244, one of the two fighters will be going home with a novelty belt that is worth more than a lot of people’s yearly salaries.

Having the Rock present the belt was, in fact, Masvidal’s idea. He tweeted out the suggestion, the Rock accepted, and White seems to have made it official.

The BMF saga has received mixed reactions, with some people appreciating the UFC doing something a bit out-of-the-box and others (like Miesha Tate) saying that it diminishes the internal value of the championship belts and making comparisons between the UFC and WWE.

UFC 244 will take place on November 2 in NYC.
