Elisabeth Clay Vs. Rafaela Guedes Announced As F2W 158 Main Event

Fight 2 Win will be spending more time in Philadelphia, and they’ve just announced the highlights of one heck of a lineup for F2W 158.

Elisabeth Clay, one of the fastest rising stars in jiu-jitsu, will be taking on Rafaela Guedes to cap off another big night of matches on November 20. Clay, who shocked the world when she submitted Luiza Monteiro at F2W 147, has been on a tear since her big ADCC Trials win a few years ago as a 16-year-old blue belt. She’s since racked up a number of big wins against black belts, including Maggie Grindatti at Who’s Number One.

Guedes had a spectacular run at Pans this year, ultimately closing out the open weight division with Monteiro, her teammate. The achievement was particularly impressive when you consider that Guedes only earned her black belt in September of this year, but then again, she’s no stranger to the podium. Her colored belt resume includes a 2019 win at Worlds as a brown belt, and she was a frequent visitor to the Worlds podium in both gi and no-gi during her time as a purple belt and brown belt. Both of these athletes are worthy opponents for each other, and given that this match will decide who will take home the no-gi welterweight title, there’s a lot on the line.

The co-main event will see Talita Nogueira take on Maria Malyjasik in a match that’s sure to bring the action. Nogueira brought home gold at No-Gi Worlds last year in the heavyweight category, adding to a list of accomplishments that includes a win at Worlds in 2011. She’ll have her work cut out for her against Malyjasik, though. The 2018 Pans champion pulled off what many considered an upset at F2W 154 when she defeated Nathiely de Jesus with a kneebar to claim the welterweight gi title. This match is a can’t-miss component of a can’t-miss event, and you’ll want to be watching when the winner is announced.

In another big match of the evening, Felipe Trovo will be going up against Dominique Bell. Trovo recently helped Team Gracie Barra to victory with an impressive performance at Subversiv 3 in which he defeated F2W CEO Seth Daniels and Unity standout Devhonte Johnson. He also won American Nationals last year in both gi and no-gi. Bell has followed up his decorated colored belt career with an impressive black belt career, and he’ll be hoping to add on to his accomplishments with a win against Trovo. He followed up a 2019 win at the San Diego Open with a silver medal at this year’s Pans, and he and Trovo will be a great test for each other in Philly.

As always, a couple dozen matches filled with local stars will provide the lead-up for the big-name matches of the evening.

Fight 2 Win 158 will take place on Friday, November 20 in Philadelphia, PA, and can be streamed live on FloGrappling.
