Felipe Pena Injured By A Brutal Armbar,But Still Manage To Win By Submission

There were a plethora of highlights at the 2016 IBJJF European Championships, but nothing may come close to Felipe Preguica’s Crazy Armbar Defense against Erberth Santos. Santos had Preguica’s arm in some seriously bad positions, but Preguica showed some highlight reel skills and was able to eventually escape and win the match.

This match was too good not to share a taste. Here’s a clip from Felipe Pena and Erberth Santo’s black belt Absolute match. Head to FloGrappling.com now for the whole thing. http://www.flograppling.com/video/902444-felipe-pena-vs-erberth-santos-european-championships-2016

Sadly, Preguica would not be able to compete in the tournament finals after suffering an arm injury while escaping the submission attempt. Either way though, Felipe Preguica’s crazy arm bar defense is something that should be studied many times over by other BJJ practitioners because it was simply stunning to behold.

Felipe Pena submits Eberth and guarantees his spot at the Black Belt Adult Open Class Final of the 2016 European Championship!#Ibjjf #ibjjfeuropean

  1. I’m not sure his escape is something “that should be studied many times over by other BJJ practitioners”.
He got his arm broken. He didn’t tap. He had to withdraw after this match. How do you study that and do you really want to do this?
