Fight 2 Win has announced that their January 29 event, F2W 162, will consist entirely of female matches.

F2W has been actively championing women’s jiu-jitsu since they began hosting events, making an active effort to put female matches on their cards and being among the first jiu-jitsu promotions to host women’s matches as the main event. But the decision to build an entire card comprised entirely of women and girls is an impressive goal even for them, especially during the COVID-19 era when it’s already challenging to put matches together.

The card is still being put together, but the main event has already been announced as a title match between current F2W bantamweight no-gi champion Nathalie Ribeiro and former champ Amanda “Tubby” Alequin.

Ribeiro most recently made headlines for her jaw-dropping transition to mount at No-Gi Pans, where she came home with lightweight gold. Earlier this year, she also won No-Gi Worlds, following in the footsteps of Alequin, who won the title in 2016. Alequin also won the ADCC East Coast Trials back in 2015, and this matchup is guaranteed to be an action-packed bout between two of the best jiu-jitsu athletes of our time.

There are still many more matches to be announced for this card, so keep an eye out for updates.

F2W 162 will take place in Miami, Florida on Friday, January 29, 2021 and can be streamed live on FloGrappling.
