A Former NFL Cheerleader Rachel Wray Jiu-Jitsu Blue Belt And MMA Fighter

From 2010 to 2011, Rachel Wray was a cheerleader for the Kansas City Chiefs. That’s what she’s best known for today, and most people would be surprised to hear what she’s doing right now. Wray took up Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu awhile ago. At this point, she’s a blue belt in BJJ, which she achieved by submitting a purple belt at a tournament early in 2015. That’s a pretty impressive feat, and it’s one that she admits came from a bit of luck.

“Now that I’ve achieved the one goal I have been focusing so hard on for so long, I feel like I can finally turn my attention back to MMA,” Wray, tells FOXSports

“I may compete in one more tournament in March, but I told my coach I’m ready to fight. He said he may have a fight readily available.”

Wray has dabbled in MMA since her cheerleading days, amassing an unspectacular 2-2 record. Then again, ex-NFL cheerleader Rachel Wray Jiu-jitsu Blue Belt and MMA fighter are words nobody would expect to read together. She mentions that becoming a blue belt is one of her proudest moments in life. Wray wants to jump back into MMA competition to improve her record, although injuries have held her back in her short career.

  1. What a real shame, no class by the other fighter, shameful of the organizers to allow a translucent ref that in the ring. This is not what people want to see.
