Former UFC Champ Cain Velasquez Will Make His Pro Wrestling Debut Next Month


Former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez will soon join the ever-growing number of athletes who compete in MMA and pro wrestling.

Velasquez will be making his debut at Mexico City’s TripleMania on August 3. He’ll be teaming up with Cody Rhodes and Psycho Clown against Texano Jr., Taurus, and a “surprise wrestler,” according to an announcement from Lucha Libre AAA. Psycho Clown is a huge pro wrestling star in Mexico, and Rhodes is a star in the All Elite Wrestling company, which is based in the United States.

It was announced in March that Velasquez would be branching out into the pro wrestling world, but at the time, a specific match hadn’t yet been announced. Velasquez shared his excitement over the initial announcement on social media.
