Francis Ngannou Will Get His Championship Shot At Stipe Miocic At UFC 220

Francis Ngannou is undefeated in the UFC. In fact, not only is he undefeated, no one has made it past the second round against him.

His latest win, via what can only be described as a decapitation, came over former Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion Alistair Overeem.  The Reem couldn’t even make it to the second minute of the first round against Francis.

To say that Ngannou has proven himself to be the man who deserves the next fight against reigning UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic is an understatement. There is no argument for why anyone else deserves a shot more than he does.

Thankfully, the UFC knows this, and Ngannou will be given his shot next month at UFC 220.

Ngannou is confident he will be the next champion.  In fact, he’s already making plans for what he’ll do when he wins:

Stipe will certainly not be an easy challenge to overcome, though. The 35-year-old Heavyweight Champion is riding a 5-fight win streak, and all of those wins have come by way of knockout. Four came in the first round.

Stipe has also defended his title twice so far, including against former UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior dos Santos, whom he knocked out in the first round at UFC 211 back in May.

He also seems to be just as confident that he’ll walk out of UFC 220 with the belt around his waist as Ngannou is:

Will Stipe be the one to force Ngannou’s streak to come to a screeching halt, or will Francis reign atop the UFC’s heavyweight mountain next year?

Unfortunately, fans will have to wait until January 20 to find out.
