Iranian-Born Gegard Mousasi Worried Trump’s Travel Ban Will Interfere With UFC 210 Fight With Weidman

Iranian-born Dutch fighter Gegard Mousasi is worried about his fight against Chris Weidman at UFC 210.

In an interview with MMA DNA, Mousasi expressed some concern about Trump’s recent travel restrictions, being that Iran is one of the seven countries the president has given restricted access to:

I don’t know. The UFC is working on it. The lawyers and guys that take care of the visas. I just have to wait. They’re gonna change some things probably in a couple weeks, because there’s a lot of protests [about] the change. I just have to wait and see.

The UFC also issued a statement on Trump’s recent travel restrictions, saying it would work to “ensure” that “fighters and employees are able to go where they need to compete and do their jobs.”

Gegard Mousasi is riding a four-fight win streak. Three of those wins have come by way of knockout.

UFC 210 is expected to go down April 8 from the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York. The event will be headlined by championship match between Anthony Johnson and UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier.
