Atos BJJ brown belt Andy Murasaki Pereira has brought home two gold medals from this year’s IBJJF Pan American Championship.
Murasaki, who also won gold at Euros earlier this year, conquered the lightweight division at Pans this year, defeating Igor Nascimento da Costa Feliz to claim the championship title. But he wasn’t done yet. Murasaki went on to compete in the open weight division and earned his second gold medal there, earning an impressive win over this year’s super-heavyweight champion Mason Fowler to take his place at the top of the podium once again.
Murasaki ensured that his victories were decisive — he submitted six of his seven opponents and claimed his win over Fowler with a dominant 12-2 showing on the scoreboard, marking the only two points scored against him in the tournament.
This is Murasaki’s second big achievement in the past month. Two weeks ago, he took home gold at the UAEJJF Miami Grand Slam at his first competition in six months.
