Miesha Tate Announces Retirement After 205 Fight

Former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion and former Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Champion Miesha Tate has decided to call it quits in the sport she dedicated close to ten years of her life to.

Tate fought hard against her opponent, Raquel Pennington, whom she coached on The Ultimate Fighter.  Though the former champion tried to utilize her world-class wrestling to her advantage, Pennington was able to counter with some heavy shots and impressive submission attempts, earning her the unanimous decision win.

Tate then announced her retirement to veteran UFC color commentator Joe Rogan.

Miesha “Cupcake” Take will leave the UFC with an 18-7 record.  She is not only well-known for being one of the top contenders in women’s MMA, but for her longtime, bitter rivalry with another former Women’s Bantamweight Champion, Ronda Rousey.
