Nate Diaz Applying For Boxing License

UFC lightweight and Cesar Gracie black belt Nate Diaz may be following in the footsteps of Conor McGregor, one of his biggest rivals.

According to the Nevada State Athletic Commission, Diaz has applied for a boxing license:

“Nate paid his fine and has requested a boxing license. Upon his submission of the required licensing information, we expect to approve his license as of this date. We welcome Nate and his older brother, Nick, to fight in Las Vegas, whether it’s with the UFC or a boxing promoter.”

With all the talk about Conor McGregor fighting Floyd Mayweather — which would almost certainly be in a boxing match, as an MMA match would probably only pay Floyd a fraction of what he normally gets — it is interesting that Diaz is also planning on stepping out of the cage and into the ring.

Could McGregor vs Diaz 3 be a boxing match?
