Nick Diaz On BJJ Competitors: ‘They’re Not Fighters, And They Are Never Going To Be’

Nick Diaz is a third-degree Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt under Cesar Gracie, and close to half of his finishes (8 out of 21) have come by way of submission.

Still, the elder Diaz and former WEC and Strikeforce Welterweight Champion does not have a high opinion of BJJ black belts as fighters.

Simply put, according to Diaz, BJJ competitors are not fighters.

Diaz isn’t the only one to feel that way, either. Last year, UFC color commentator Joe Rogan expressed a similar opinion when he said, “Jiu-jitsu is not fighting because you’re not hitting each other.”

Do you agree with Diaz and Rogan?
