Ronda Rousey Will NOT Fight At UFC 205

Bad news for those waiting for the return of the first and former UFC women’s bantamweight champion.

According to UFC President Dana White, Ronda Rousey will not be returning to the cage for the promotion’s first event in New York, UFC 205.

White revealed the news with Matt Serra and Jim Norton on UFC Unfiltered:

“She’s definitely not fighting in New York. I’m actually going to start building the New York card this week.”

“Rowdy” Ronda Rousey, who not only made history as one half of the first women’s match in the UFC, but was once considered unstoppable in her division, last fought ten months ago at UFC 193, where the world witnessed her brutal knockout loss at the hands (or, more accurately, feet) of kickboxer and former UFC Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm. She was going to fight longtime rival, Miesha Tate, at UFC 200, but movie obligations got in her way.

No word yet on when the former bantamweight queen will make her return to the octagon.
