ROUSIMAR PALHARES VS GARRY TONON !!!

One of the most exciting Jiu-Jitsu matches ever is set to go down April 2nd at the Polaris Pro Invitational. Garry the Lion Killer Tonon is set to face off against Rousimar “Toquinho” Palhares.

Anyone who knows both of these men is surly super excited. Palhares has caused quite a bit of controversy in the MMA community, as he is known for holding onto submissions far too long.  Palhares sports an impressive record of 18-6 with 15 wins coming via submission. The match is made even more interesting because Palhares is also known for his leg lock game. Eleven of his fifteen submissions in the cage have come via leg lock (usually the heel hook).

Garry “The Lion Killer” Tonon also sports some crazy credentials in this match. While he is most famous for his match with Kron Gracie, son of the Legendary Rickson ; which he lost. Garry has many other accomplishments which outshine his great match with Kron. But above all he is now becoming the face of Jiu Jitsu VS MMA in grappling. With recent wins against both Marcin Held and Masakazu Imanari he is on a quest to prove his superior grappling skills to both Jiu Jitsu fans and MMA fans alike.

The match will be interesting because we have seen Garry compete as light as 150lbs, but Palhares usually competed at 170lbs in MMA(which involves more weight cutting). The key to this match will be just how much heavier will Palhares be than Tonon and who can catch the submission first? With both of these fighters always pushing the pace, this match will surely be over in the first few minutes. Who do you have winning this epic clash of leg lock assassins?
