The Transferable Skills Of Martial Arts: How jiu jitsu taught me to be a better employee

Francesca Simon-Carboni used to find it difficult to remain cool under pressure in her financial services job, but then she started learning jiu-jitsu. At a recent TED Talk event, Francesca recounted an experience from one of her martial arts classes, where the instructor surprised her by asking her to fend off attacks from two senior black belt students simultaneously. She says that these days, whenever she gets bogged down with different aspects of her job, she always recalls that jiu-jitsu class, keeps a clear head and deals with each issue in turn.
