UFC Fighter Joins EBI Combat Jiu-Jitsu Tournament

The most surprising thing about the 11th Eddie Bravo Invitational isn’t the fact that UFC star and BJJ black belt Cole Miller has one of the top slots in the mid-range weight class. What’s surprising is that the EBI Combat Jiu-Jitsu tournament at that event features what are known as Pancreas rules.

Cole Miller told grappling Central he feels this helps to keep jiujitsuka honest since they have to deal with palm strikes in these situations. He said that dealing with these kinds of strikes forces a jiujitsuka to avoid certain moves they would otherwise always pull out in a fight. Triangle choke techniques have always been a favorite of his, but some of these don’t work in this kind of situation since they leave a fighter open to getting hit. When a UFC fighter joins EBI for a night of action, you can be sure the fans are going to be watching closely.
