Jiu-jitsu black belt Helvecio Penna is fifty-five years old and currently competes in adult tournaments against many of the world’s top black belts. Even more remarkably, Penna also has a full time job helping disadvantaged children, who live in poor areas of Rio. Talk about setting a good example for others to follow….
Recently, Penna faced twenty-nine year old Nelton Pontes from Portugal, in the 2016 European Championships. Although he lost the fight, he put up a strong showing against a fighter who ended up finishing third in a heavyweight division stacked with talent.
