The “Chosen One” was indeed chosen tonight. Tyron Woodley is the new undisputed UFC welterweight champion of the world!
That match started out slowly, with Woodley taking the center of the octagon and Lawler dancing around the perimeter. Almost an entire minute went by before Woodley rushed in swinging, pressing the former champion up against the cage.
The referee quickly broke the two up, and “Ruthless” Robbie went back to dancing around, waiting for his time to strike.
But he waited too long.
Woodley again rushed in with huge bomb of a punch, knocking the champion down and forcing the referee to cover the barely conscious Lawler 2:12 into the first round.
