Anthony “Rumble” Johnson Eyes UFC Comeback Journey in 2020

Having recently gotten a taste of what life as a pro submission grappler is like, Anthony “Rumble” Johnson has decided to return to the cage. Manager Ali Abdelaziz made the announcement earlier today according to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, elaborating that Rumble intends to get back into the cage in March 2020.

Rumble, a longtime fan favorite in the fight world, was last seen at July’s Submission Underground 9 in a mismatched showdown with Craig Jones, who weighed 70lbs. less than Johnson the day of the fight. Rumble was submitted within the first minute by heel hook.

Johnson has had considerably better performances in mixed martial arts. His record with the UFC stands at 22-6, and includes victories over Ryan Bader, Alex Gustafsson, and Antonio Nogueria. His last fight was in 2017, his challenger of champion Daniel Cormier. He retired in the cage after being defeated.

Abdelaziz says Rumble will make his return at heavyweight.
