Dan LaSavage had just put his 3-year-old daughter to sleep when he started to hear strange noises. These noises came from a 47-year-old career criminal named Richard Melville.
LaSavage used his martial arts prowess to safely incapacitate the suspect. He held Melville until the police arrived.
Authorities found a crack pipe on Melville, and he has been charged with the possession of drug paraphernalia.
LaSavage believes that Melville, who is also now charged with burglary, is lucky. If he had entered the home of someone with a firearm, then he might have been killed.
