Many UFC fighters are making their feelings known about Nick Diaz’s recent five year ban. The lengthy ban was given by the NSAC (Nevada State Athletic Commission) on September 14, after the former welterweight Strikeforce Champion explained why he failed a post fight drugs test at UFC 183.
Many are accusing the NSAC of bias, because the commission appeared hostile to Diaz’s legal team. Once the ban was announced, people voiced their discontent on social media, via the hashtag #FREENICKDIAZ. Chael Sonnen, the present WSOF color commentator and former UFC athlete, is spreading the message by selling his own #FREENICKDIAZ shirt.
