Colby Covington Confirms That He Has Left American Top Team

Former interim UFC Welterweight Champion Colby Covington has revealed publicly that he is no longer a part of American Top Team (ATT).

Covington, who has had repeated issues with multiple teammates including Jorge Masvidal, Joanna Jedrzejczyk, and Dustin Poirier, had been removed from the team’s website, prompting questions about his status with ATT. Then, he was asked in an interview with The Score if he was still with the prestigious team, and he said no.

“I am a member of Colby Covington Incorporated. I am a member of Colby Covington business, Colby Covington team, everything. This is my team now,” he said.

Covington said that the logistics of where and with whom he’d train next are still in the works. He criticized the way that some of his teammates had approached ATT co-founder Dan Lambert about issues they had with Covington following a policy from Lambert that fighters weren’t allowed to trash-talk each other unless they had an upcoming fight against each other scheduled. However, he also praised Lambert and seemed appreciative for what the two had accomplished together over the years.

You can watch the full interview below; Covington’s announcement about leaving ATT comes very close to the beginning of the clip:
