Daniel Cormier’s Third Fight Against Stipe Miocic Will Be His Last

Double belt winner Daniel Cormier is ready to retire, and he’s hoping to do it in a redemptive close to his trilogy of UFC bouts against current title holder Stipe Miocic.

Cormier jumped on Ariel Helwani’s MMA show to explain he’s ready to get the belt back from Miocic at UFC 245 this December. The two last squared off this summer, with Miocic shining in a victorious demonstration of just how much he has to offer the division. Immediately after the loss rumors began to circulate that Cormier was done–now 40, the athlete/commentator once stated his plan was to retire at 39.

UFC frontman Dana White did confirm last week that the trilogy was in the works, but made no mention of whether Cormier’s desired December fight will close out the year.
