Dillon Danis Becomes FloGrappling’s Most Promising Black Belt Of The Year

The fans of FloGrappling have spoken, and they have chosen Marcelo Garcia black belt Dillon Danis as their 2016 Most Promising Black Belt of the Year.

Danis was winning awards long before he became a black belt, though. He earned third place in the Pan-Ams as a purple belt back in 2012, and as a brown belt belt he became a multiple-time World and Pan-Am Champion.

Danis has also been making waves in the MMA world, though he has not fought in the cage yet. Besides being a training partner of the “Notorious” Conor McGregor, he has appeared in major MMA publications such as MMA Fighting for challenging such stars as Nate Diaz and Sage Northcutt.

Danis is also taking a page of Conor’s book when it comes to self-promotion. Just check out this video of him on The MMA Hour:

We here at the Jiu-Jitsu Times want to congratulate Dillon Danis on his success and wish him an equally (if not more) successful fighting career in 2017, whether that career take place in the cage, on the mats, or both!

  1. He was also named ‘Most likely to be hit in the back of the head with a pipe in a parking lot’ by Douchbag monthly. Congrats!
