Gabi Garcia, nine-time jujitsu champion turned MMA fighter, finally has an opponent for the much-awaited Rizin Fighting Federation tournament. The match-up was made public on Tuesday, by the promotion, along with other match-ups as well as a list of other participants in the open weight event.
The jujitsu champ will be facing Destanie Yarbrough, a football player who was won the only match she’s ever had as an MMA fighter. Yarbrough defeated Crystal Parson in April at the 24th edition of The Warriors Cage through a first-round technical knockout. At the same event, Gabi Garcia defeated Anna Malyukova through submission. Gabi’s stats now stands at 2-0, which makes her the favorite to win the match.
Five new members were also added to the 16-member tournament, which will be held on September 25, 2016, at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan. MMA heavyweight, Jiri Prochazka will also be participating in the tournament.
