The Ultimate Fighter 23 Finale took place this past Friday during International Fight Week from Las Vegas, Nevada.
The women’s strawweight finale was a short-lived bout between Tatiana Suarez and Amanda Cooper. The remarkable note about this match, though, was that it ended with the first ever female D’arce, or Brabo, choke inside of the UFC octagon at just 3:43 of the first round.
Tatiana Suarez is the Ultimate Fighter 23 winner and is now 4-0 in her professional MMA career. As the sport of MMA continues its meteoric rise in popularity, we will continue to see an impressive rise in skill sets inside of the women’s divisions as they are rapidly catching up to the men.
