Whether it was luck or skill, the result is the same. Frankie Edgar once again proved to be dominant in a quick win over his opponent Chad Mendes. It was the very first exchange of the fight and Edgar was able to land a devastating left hook on the nose. That was all it took for his challenger to hit the canvas.
This first round KO adds to his string of impressive wins recently and should bolster his case for a title shot in the UFC. Edgar has been campaigning for it but Dana White has not committed to anything yet. Perhaps this win will change his mind.
